The center has several programs for our seniors. Please consider joining in on one or more of these programs, as your time permits.

  • AARP free Income Tax Preparation for seniors and low-income, from February 1 - April 15.
  • Health Fair (in the fall)
  • Franklin Food Pantry Collection Site
  • Empty pill bottle collection site for Matthew 25 Ministries

Information on Warren County and Federal programs for senior citizens is available upon request.

Ding-A-Ling Chorus

  • 1 p.m. practice every Tuesday
  • Have fun singing your heart out
  • Join the chorus, we are always looking for new members
  • We perform at nursing homes, retirement communities and local special events


  • Every Friday 1 - 3:30 p.m.
  • We provide the cards and chips

Book Exchange

  • Library of books members can borrow from

Carry In Luncheon

  • 11:30 a.m. on the fourth Friday of every month, except November & December when it is the 3rd Friday
  • Bring your favorite dish to share as we all celebrate the month's birthdays
  • Food, friends and fun
  • Door prizes provided by "Friends of the Deardoff Center"

Pool Tables

  • Open play times


  • Schedule depends on the host/hostess
  • Bridge Club meets at the DSC on a regular basis
  • They must be scheduled in advance to reserve accommdation

  • 1 - 3:30 p.m. every Thursday

Wii Sports

  • September - December
  • DSC has the equipment and wants members to join in the fun
  • No heavy bowling ball, just the lightweight hand-held remote
  • Can be played standing or sitting


  • 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays
  • Acrylics, watercolor, coloring, special crafts
  • You can bring your own canvas or purchase one here
  • Beginners class, no intimidation, self led
  • 1 to 1 1/2 hours
  • Socialize and paint!

Food Pantry Collection Site

  • The DSC also collects food for the Franklin area Food Pantry
  • A donation box is available in the hallway

Elderly Services Program (ESP) of Warren County

ESP provides support servies that help senior adults 60 years of age and older remain safe and independent in their own homes. Services include home delivered meals, homemaking, personal care, respite care, medical transportation, adult day services, electronic monitoring services, independent living assistance and minor home repair.
